Sept. 10 (UPI) -- The decomposed body of a female discovered this week in Los Angeles in the trunk of a Tesla that belonged to singer D4vd has authorities saying it will take time to find out the victim's identity.

Police in LA were called to an impound lot on Monday on North Mansfield Avenue due to a "foul odor coming from the vehicle," police officials said in a statement.

Authorities, who have yet to identify the victim, say the remains lingered "for an extended period of time before being found."

According to the medical examiner's office, the unidentified female victim was described as being 5 foot, two inches at around 71 pounds with wavy black hair. She was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal bracelet, meal stud earrings and had a tattoo that said "Shh..." on her right index finger.

D4vd, at birth named David Anthony Burke, is reportedly willing to assist with the investigation.

A spokesperson told NBC News and New York Post in a statement the singer "has been informed about what's happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities."

The 20-year-old R&B singer is currently on tour and performed on Tuesday at The Fillmore Minneapolis and slated on September 20 to be in Los Angeles.
