The Hotel Designed After the 1984 Winter Olympics

The international hotel chain Ibis Styles has built a hotel in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina with a rather interesting design motif.

Walking into this new hotel is almost like taking a step back in time, as everything is modeled after the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo – back when it was still part of Yugoslavia.

Each room features a pair of these vintage orange skis.

Colorful carpets made by local craftsmen line the shisha bar; a popular gathering place for guests.

At the bar, you almost feel as though you’re inside a cozy restaurant during the height of winter several decades ago.

The lobby uses Olympic-era snowboards as swings. Who needs a regular old chair?

Each room number is made of a hand-woven kilim.
