Meet Volkswagen's First Purely Electric Car

Volkswagen is determined not to be left behind in the development of next-generation electric vehicles, and their I.D. electric concept car is a prime example. Targeted to be under $35,000, the car will reportedly go into production in 2020. The car is projected to get anywhere between 248 miles and 372 miles on a single charge. A self-driving mode will apparently be available in 2025, and when in automated mode, the steering wheel will recess into the dash. Volkswagen is aiming to introduce more than 30 electrified vehicles by 2025, and to sell two to three million of them a year.
